When it comes to praying many have expressed they do not know how, why, when or whom to pray to. Only praying when unexpected problems seem too difficult to solve, not knowing where to turn while thirsting for a spiritual healing.
1. Who are you praying to?
There are many beliefs, so therefore you must ask who or what you’re praying to.
Ask yourself this question.. Are you praying to a man made idol that has no spirit? If so, this could be why you have no connection and therefore your prayers go unanswered. Are you praying to the spirit that never dies? 1 Corinthians 6:19: The body is a temple for the Holy Spirit
2. Why Pray?
Every time we pray it’s like a deposit into our bank account with a greater return than the interest paid on your money in the bank. There’s nothing greater than the one who created you and no prayers go unanswered; every prayer is answered according to God’s will. His will is always pleasing, good and perfect. Praying is not like dropping a dime and then picking it up, it’s more like a new born baby that’s protected, nurtured and trained to learn right from wrong, being sheltered with unconditional love. This is a bond that’s built from the time a fetus is in their mother’s womb. Everything is connected then and not when it’s one day old or needs to be fed. So the point I’m making is why wait to pray when you’re in need; apply gratitude for everyday things like waking up with gratitude before hand, which results in praising and praying at the same time. Praying is building a relationship that connects you to a greater source, some say “the universe”. I say, ” it’s the Holy Spirit that will guide and strengthen you, while opening your mind, body and soul, encouraging faith and hope”. Everything is being sought out for you to win. It may not turn out the way you planned it, however, by praying more often, the best plan for you will be brought forth in a very smooth and simple solution.
3. When and How often to pray
Pray without ceasing, acknowledging who you’re praying to. For example, (Our Father), (Dear God), (Lord and Savior), you can pray standing, kneeling, lying down, running, going and coming.
Prayers can be silent or spoken out. All that matters is for you to acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path.
Romans 8:26 reads “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for God’s people accordance with the will of God”
4. How to pray
Humble thyself. Speak from the heart while praying for guidance to turn from wickedness and to be forgiven for our sins. We’re all sinners saved by God’s grace. Read 2 Chronicles 7:14 for more.
Matthew 6: 6 -15
But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, For your Father knows what you need before you ask him. This then is how you should pray:
“Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
Your will be done on
earth as it is in heaven.
Give us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.”
For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men’s sins, your sins will not be forgiven.
Praying doesn’t cost anything but time. If you can go into a secret place, then go. If not, stand where you are. Let the spirit in to guide you while building your faith, the key to opening doors.
